These Uganda national parks were awarded because they have consistently been rated or reviewed high by travelers on TripAdvisor over the past year. Bwindi impenetrable forest national park
The park is most notable for sheltering over 500 Mountain gorillas, half of the world’s population of the endangered mountain gorillas. 17 habituated mountain gorilla groups are open to tourism in four different sectors of Buhoma, Ruhijja, Rushaga and the Nkuringo all under the management of Uganda Wildlife Authority. It provides habitat for 120 species of mammals, 348 species of birds, 220 species of butterflies. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is the smallest National park of the 3 national parks in the Virunga conservation area the other two parks are Virunga National park in DRC and Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and all form 434-sq.km of this conservation area. Mgahinga National park was established majorly to protect the mountain gorillas and in this same park also endangered Golden monkeys have made it their habitat. this has earned it a great number of tourists especially going for mountain Gorilla tracking. This park has one Gorilla family settling there and is open for trekking.

Mgahinga National Park has about 39 mammals including the Mountain gorillas, buffaloes and elephants, also endangered golden monkeys. Others include; giant forest hogs, bushbucks, leopards, spotted hyenas, black fronted duikers among others. It also has over 79 bird species.
Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale National Park is one of the remaining excellent rainforests in Africa. It harbors the greatest variety and concentration of primates found nowhere else in East Africa. Excellent birds and primates, a good infrastructure and a variety of interesting activities. It is home to a large number of endangered chimpanzees, as well as the red colobus monkey giving it the highest diversity and concentration of primates in Africa. The area is mainly occupied by two tribes the Batooro and Bakiga traditionally both tribes living in the forest neighborhood.
Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park is located near Lake Mburo along Mbarara road. 20% of the park’s populace is covered by the Lake Mburo and the wetlands. The park is an ideal place for bird life with about 310 recorded bird species. The Park is the one place where one can find the impalas and the eland which is the largest antelope in Africa. Other animals include large groups of buffaloes, zebras, and lions. Do not expect Elephants and giraffes in this park.
Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison falls National Park is Uganda’s largest national park known for the famous Murchison Falls where the waters of the Nile flow through a narrow gorge only 7meters (23 ft) wide before plunging 43m (141 ft).
The park has 76 species of mammals including those in the Bugondo Forest Reserve as well. Murchison falls National Park also has Uganda’s largest population of Nile crocodiles. 450 bird species are present ranging from easy variety of water birds, like shoe-billed stork, Goliath heron, dwarf kingfisher, white-thighed hornbill and great blue turaco.
Mount Elgon National Park
Renowned as the world’s largest caldera, Mount Elgon National Park is winning for the first time. Mount Elgon National Park is home to over species, including the Lammergeyer. A climb on Mt.
